My Little Monkey...

I love making monkey cake and cupcake toppers -- each one seems to take on a life of its own.  When I see them, I smile, so I thought I would share a few smiles with you...

Are you smiling?  If so, brighten someone's day with that smile of yours!

Thank you for Serving!

My first cupcake topper order was for a family serving in the military -- the husband had been serving and would be returning in time to celebrate their twins first birthday.  What an honor it was to create the toppers for this family and this incredible homecoming and celebration!

Now, several months later, I was privileged to create toppers for another family who is serving this great nation of ours.  This time, the toppers are for Colonel Walker, who will be captaining a US Navy ship.

Thank you Colonel Walker...and all who serve. We appreciate your service and dedication to serving this great nation of ours.

Take me out to the ball game

Tiffani found me on Etsy, and asked for a safari animal set, customized to include a Tiger holding a number 3 sculpture, and a palm tree.

Tiffani did a great job of creating the safari themed cake that follows...

Fast forward a bit and Tiffani is at it again.  Only this time she had a baseball themed cake in mind.  The cake was to be a 10" round on a 14" square.  She provided me with a list of items that she wanted for the cake and this is what I made.

For the top of the top tier:  6" baseball bat, 3" tall Yankee baseball cap, 4" mitt, two baseballs, a large #8
Side of the top tier: Baseball pennants spelling out the name "ASHER"
Top of the bottom tier: 4 base plates
Side of the bottom tier: jerseys with the number 8, baseball bats, mitts, stars
Additional decorations:  small baseballs (to be interspersed with beading), and 2 2" baseball mits for two of the corners of the cake.

The toppers haven't even shipped yet, so I don't have a "finished cake" photo to show you at the moment, but I can't wait to see it!  I hope you can picture it in your mind.

If you can dream it, I would love the opportunity to make it in fondant!

Happy Styling,

Cake and Cupcake Topper Style Stars

Oh my, has it really been a month since my last posting?  I apologize for that.  There has been a whole lot of celebrating going on around the world (yes world!) and my hands have been busy MAKING these little guys.

Safari animals have been very popular and at the moment, I cannot tell you just how many lions, tigers, giraffes, zebras, hippos, elephants and monkeys I have made.  The thing that I love, love, love about making each little cake and cupcake topper is that each is totally unique.  Each topper is made with love and a prayer of blessing for the life of the person receiving the toppers, their family and for their celebration.

I haven't photographed every topper made, but here are the highlights from the past month...

This Week's Style Stars

I do love the challenge of making edible cake and cupcake toppers to match your invitations, color inspsiration boards, and party themes.

Recent stylings include...

Jake and the Neverland Pirate Cake Toppers

Disney will be releasing a Jake and the Neverland Pirate DVD September 27th, but this mom wanted to stay ahead of the game and make a Jake and the Neverland Pirate cake topper set for her son's Birthday in August.  These edible fondant toppers will top a pirate ship shaped cake, and include Jake, Skully, Jake's sword, a treasure map, barrel...and a treasure chest full of treasure.

Elephant and Giraffe Baby Shower

This baby shower theme is all about elephants and giraffes...teal and orange elephants and giraffes to be exact.  These toppers stand 5" tall and are completely edible!

Sweet Safari Theme

The challenge, make 5 safari animals to match the following...
and here they are...

Tiffany Rose

Tiffany blue that is!  This elegant design is perfect for weddings, anniversaries, a "Breakfast at Tiffanys" party, or to accompany any gift from the ever famous Tiffany & Co...

Silly Bears

Sometimes you just need something silly to make you smile.  These Silly Bears are just the thing...

Minnie Mouse Cake Topper Set
All I can say is Minnie continues to reign = ) This is a custom set of toppers made for a sheet cake.

Time to get back to making style stars and not just talking about them = )  If you have a special event coming up and would like a creation to stylishly dress your cake and/or cupcakes, contact me.  I would be happy to work with you to make your event FABULOUS!

Style Stars...

I am having such a great time making cupcake and cake creations for all of you very creative party planners!  It seems daily, I am contacted about whether I can do this or that.  I absolutely LOVE the challenges that you are sending my way, and enjoying making these little works of art.

So what am I working on?

SURF MONKEY...

The cake topper is to fit an 8" cake that will top a cupcake tower.  The tower will hold 24 cupcakes with monkey and surfboard toppers.

This styling holds a lot of options for the decorator -- the cake could be iced with a gel mixed icing in shades of blue, then topped with graham cracker crumbs to resemble a sand, with the monkey, surfboard and palm tree enjoying this little island in the sun.  How would you use these pieces to decorate your own surf monkey cake?

BLUE GIRAFFES...

These little giraffes cake toppers were created to match a baby shower invitation.  They stand 3 and 3-1/2 inches tall.

KRISTHEN...

I love the retro feel of these TYPEWRITER KEY toppers, spelling out the name "Kristhen".  Add some polka dots to match and you have a simple style that is sure to delight!

MICKEY MOUSE and MINNIE MOUSE...

I grew up about 20 miles away from Disneyland, so Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse were a big part of my childhood.  I LOVE that children everyone still love Mickey and Minnie!

Well, that is all for now.  Check back again soon for more style stars from the Cupcake Stylist!
