Fondant Art Cake and Cupcake Decorations

I feel a little like a broken record when I say I LOVE a challenge!

Tiffani, has challenged me on three occasions now, to create fondant decorations for an "art" themed birthday cake and cupcakes for her daughter, a "New York Yankee" themed cake, and a "safari" cake.

When working to create your vision in fondant, it helps me to know...

• the type of event you are planning
• whether you will be serving a cake, cupcakes, both, or some other type of dessert
• the cake dimensions (shape, number of tiers, height and width/diameter of each tier)
• colors to be used
• if you have an invitation that you would like the decorations to match or complement

For Tiffani's art cake, she provided me with her plan to order a 2-tier, round cake, with a 6" diameter top tier (height TBD) and 10 or 12" diameter bottom tier (8" high), and 24 cupcakes. Tiffani suggested brushes, palettes and an easel -- she also provided me with her daughter's name and age to be celebrated, and turned me loose.

I came up with the following sketch

Tiffani approved the sketch and work began.  Here are the finished art cake decorations...

I didn't photograph the paint drips, but they were created and wrapped immediately to keep them soft and pliable. I didn't want them to dry and crack, so you will just have to use your imagination = )

XO by Olivia...Fondant Olivia and Peacock

I am often asked if I do custom work -- the answer is, "Absolutely!"  In fact, I LOVE making your vision a reality.

Recently I had the absolute pleasure of creating the fondant cake and cupcake decorations for the XO by Olivia Annual Sweetheart Party. I was provided with an invitation and the cake dimensions, and asked to make both cake and cupcake decorations to complement the invitation theme and colors.

Sweet Safari Fondant Cake and Cupcake Toppers

The "Sweet at One"  and Sweet Safari Pink and Sweet Safari Blue party decorations are a hit, for those wanting to celebrate that first birthday, with a safari or jungle animal themed soiree!

Keeping with my goal "I make it easy for YOU to make it fabulous", I have two different jungle/safari animal fondant cake and cupcake decoration sets to match the Sweet Safari Pink, Sweet Safari Blue, and Sweet at One party decorations.

Using these fondant cake and cupcake toppers are quite easy.  All you need to do is provide the cake and/or cupcakes, frost them, and add the Sweet safari animals for a wonderful dessert to celebrate your little one.

A Day at the Circus -- Circus themed Fondant Decorations!

I am somewhat of a perfectionist, so this post is a little uncomfortable for me...  Afterall, what will you think about the photos taken from my phone, without the proper lighting and background - yikes!

Oh well, I figure if I wait for the perfect photo, the perfect timing, etc. you will never know what I am working on in my little workshop = )

I was contacted quite awhile ago by a mom who was planning her daughter's 2nd birthday celebration.  The Theme...Vintage Circus.  I created a custom listing for her in my Cupcake Stylist shop on Etsy.  The mom provided me with her event date and colors (teal, dark red, light red and white), and we worked together to fine-tune the designs...

the complete package consits of: 4" elephant with party hat, 5 safari animals, 2 circus tents and 1 tub of popcorn.

Well, the party is January 28th, so these toppers will be packaged up and shipped on January 21st.  I can't wait to see pictures of how these toppers are used at the party!

Fondant Alligator and Fondant Snake Cake and Cupcake Toppers

It's a jungle out there...and I have had a wonderful time supplying fondant safari animal cake and cupcake toppers for Baby Showers, Birthday celebrations, and other occasions.

Today, the Cupcake Stylist safari animal cake and cupcake topper family grew, with the addition of a fondant alligator

and fondant snake!

The family now consists of 9 fondant safari animals including:

• Fondant Alligator
• Fondant Elephant
• Fondant Giraffe
• Fondant Hippo
• Fondant Lion
• Fondant Monkey
• Fondant Snake
• Fondant Tiger
• Fondant Zebra

The safari animals are offered in a number of sizes (from 2" to 8" tall), with or without party hats, with or without name or number sculptures, and in "classic" colors, or made to match your theme or color scheme.
